Nano Parra

Nano Parra, born Fernando Báez Parra on September 20, 1937, in Curacaví, Chile, is a musician known for his contributions to Chilean folk music. He is part of the second generation of the famous Parra family, which includes legendary figures like Violeta Parra and Nicanor Parra. Nano Parra has been active in the music scene since the 1960s and is recognized for his work in traditional genres such as cueca, a style of Chilean folk music. One of his notable works includes the album *Veinte cuecas con salsa verde*, released in 1965, which he collaborated on with his mother, Hilda Parra, and his sister, María Elena. His music often reflects the rich cultural heritage of Chile, and he has been involved in various musical projects throughout his career.

Nano Parra also created a folk music venue called "La Peña de Nano Parra" in Santiago, where he actively promoted traditional Chilean music. His recent releases include titles like *En la Peña de Nano ¡30 Cuecas Choras...!* and *Un Chileno Querendón*, showcasing his enduring passion for Chilean folk music. Despite his contributions to folk music, Nano Parra's career has been somewhat overshadowed by his more famous family members, but he remains a significant figure in Chile's musical landscape.
