A-WA

A-WA is a band formed by three sisters hailing from the desert landscapes of southern Israel. The trio, Tair, Liron, and Tagel Haim, have captivated audiences worldwide with their unique blend of Yemenite folk singing, electronic dance music, and reggae influences. Their music is a fresh and modern interpretation of the rich cultural heritage they carry from their Yemenite grandparents, sung in Arabic dialect and combined with vibrant beats that make their sound distinctive.

Debuting with their hit single "Habib Galbi," A-WA broke boundaries as the song became the first Arabic-language song to top the Israeli charts. The accompanying EP and subsequent releases further solidified their status in the world music scene. Their music, characterized by its infectious rhythms and mesmerizing vocal harmonies, tells stories of love, heritage, and sisterhood. Albums like "Bayti Fi Rasi," integrating traditional folkloric themes into contemporary contexts, showcase their ability to bridge time spans and genres. With each release, A-WA continues to redefine Middle Eastern music and gain international acclaim, enchanting audiences from the Middle East to the far corners of the Western world.
