Brass Queens

Brass Queens is a vibrant, female-led brass band based in New York City, specifically hailing from Brooklyn. Formed in March 2019, the band was co-founded by Alex Harris and Ally Chapel with a mission to empower female musicians in a traditionally male-dominated brass scene. Their sound is deeply rooted in the New Orleans brass band tradition, infused with the energetic spirit of New York. Brass Queens have made a significant impact on the music scene, performing at major events like the Met Gala, David Byrne's “Amazing Humans Doing Amazing Things!” variety show, and on Good Morning America. They have also performed at iconic venues such as The Capitol Theater, Blue Note Jazz Club, and Brooklyn Bowl. Their music releases include their debut EP "Royal Street" and full-length albums "Black & Gold" and "Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I" .
