Founded in 2004 by Hermann Härtel jun., Magdalena Zenz, Marie-Theres Härtel, and deeLinde, the band has undergone several lineup changes over the years. Notable members include Marie-Theres Härtel, who continues to be a part of the group and has also collaborated with other artists in various projects. Netnakisum has performed at numerous international festivals and has released several albums, including their self-titled debut in 2007, *Nutville* in 2009, *Das Geheimnis der Alpenstube* in 2011, and *Hoamweh* in 2014.
