The Power Station was a supergroup formed in the mid-1980s, bringing together some of the biggest names from rock and pop. The band included Robert Palmer on vocals, John Taylor and Andy Taylor from Duran Duran on bass and guitar, respectively, and drummer Tony Thompson from Chic. They created a unique sound that fused rock, funk, and dance elements, most famously showcased in their hit single "Some Like It Hot."
Their self-titled debut album, released in 1985, was a commercial success and captured a high-energy, stylized sound distinct from the members' other projects. Although the group was initially short-lived due to members returning to their primary bands or solo careers, they briefly reformed in the mid-1990s and released a second album, Living In Fear. The Power Station remains a notable example of 1980s musical collaboration, blending different genres and star power into a fresh, punchy sound.
