CJAY GRiZ

CJAY GRiZ, whose real name is Christian-John Monias, is a music artist and producer known for blending mellow, chill, and hyped hip-hop with raw and gritty lyrics from an indigenous perspective. Born in Winnipeg and raised in the eastern Cree territory of Quebec, CJAY GRiZ began his musical journey as a teenager, initially drawn to rap music. He gained experience through the N'we Jinan program in 2014 and has since worked independently, creating content on YouTube and releasing projects. CJAY GRiZ collaborates with other indigenous artists and has also ventured into stand-up comedy. His recent releases include tracks like "Chiiyaanuu," "B4 The Wavelength," and "Wake Up," showcasing his evolving style and creativity. In 2023, he was recognized as Producer of the Year at the International Indigenous Hip Hop Awards Show.
