Glamour of the Kill, often known by the acronym GOTK, is a melodic metalcore band originating from York, England. Founded in 2007, the band is known for their energetic blend of heavy metal riffs, punk rock vitality, and anthemic, melodic choruses, drawing comparisons with bands across the metal and rock spectrum, from Avenged Sevenfold to Bullet For My Valentine. They emerged on the scene with a self-titled EP in 2008, gaining recognition for their fusion of aggression and harmony, setting the stage for their future releases.
The band's reputation grew with the release of their full-length albums, including "The Summoning" in 2011, which featured fan-favorites like "Feeling Alive" and "A Hope in Hell". They continued to expand their discography with "Savages" in 2013, showcasing a polished, hook-laden sound in tracks like "A Freak Like Me" and "Break". After a brief hiatus starting in 2015, the band surprised fans with their long-awaited return, releasing the EP "After Hours" and the 2019 single "Resurrection," affirming their commitment to their metalcore roots while displaying a matured approach to their music and lyrics. GOTK's relentless touring and their penchant for crafting infectious melodies within their heavy soundscape have cemented them as a stalwart of the UK metalcore scene.
