Carin Levine

Carin Levine is a renowned American classical flautist, celebrated for her exceptional playing style and her contributions to contemporary flute music. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, under Jack Wellbaum (flute) and Peter Kamnitzer (chamber music). Furthering her education, she attended the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, studying with notable figures such as Aurèle Nicolet. Levine is particularly known for her interpretations of modern and contemporary flute literature and has been involved in various musical projects, including her work with the Ensemble Köln and as a co-founder of the Aeolian Trio.

Carin Levine has also dedicated herself to teaching and has served as a lecturer at events such as the Darmstadt Summer Courses. She is the artistic director of the Landesjugendensemble Neue Musik Niedersachsen, founded in 2008. Her commitment to contemporary music is evident in her publications, including the series *Contemporary Music for Flute* with Bärenreiter-Verlag. Levine's discography includes notable works such as *The Flute Experience* and *The Mythic Flute*, showcasing her versatility and mastery of the flute.
