Agent Steel is an American speed metal band that originated in the early 1980s Los Angeles heavy metal scene. Known for their high-octane riffs and science fiction-themed lyrics, the band was formed in 1984 by vocalist John Cyriis and drummer Chuck Profus. Their debut album, "Skeptics Apocalypse" (1985), quickly established the band within the thrash and speed metal communities, with its fast-paced tracks and intricate guitar work. The follow-up EP, "Mad Locust Rising" (1985), and their second full-length album "Unstoppable Force" (1987), further cemented their reputation as one of the pioneers in the speed metal sub-genre, combining complex song structures with aggressive musicianship.

Agent Steel went through a series of hiatuses and lineup changes, which included the departure of Cyriis and saw the band experimenting with different sounds and members. After a long break, they resurfaced with "Omega Conspiracy" in 1999, marking the beginning of a new era. They continued to release new material, such as "Order of the Illuminati" (2003) and "Alienigma" (2007), which showcased their consistent ability to blend thematic lyricism with relentless metal rhythms. The band would once again experience periods of silence until their resurgence with "No Other Godz Before Me" in 2021, featuring the return of John Cyriis.
