Snail Ramp

**Snail Ramp** is a dynamic Japanese ska-punk and melodic hardcore band formed in 1995, centered around Akira Takemura. The band is associated with SCHOOL BUS RECORDS, a label founded by Takemura himself, and has released music through King Records and Tokuma Japan Communications. Their sound is a vibrant blend of Japanese melodic punk, punk rock, and ska, leaving a lasting impact on the music scene. Notable releases include "MIND YOUR STEP!", which charted on the Oricon weekly top ten, and the album "FRESH BRASH OLD MAN", which reached number one on the Oricon charts.

Snail Ramp's career has been marked by periods of hiatus and member changes. After releasing the critically acclaimed album "GRAVITY" in 2002, the band entered a hiatus due to member departures, including AKIO. They regrouped in 2004 and continued to produce new music until announcing a near-total halt in activities in 2015. Throughout their journey, Snail Ramp has been celebrated for its energetic performances and contributions to the Japanese punk and ska movements.
