The Troops of Doom

**The Troops of Doom** is a Brazilian metal band that pays homage to the early days of Sepultura, one of Brazil's most influential metal bands. The group features Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz, a former guitarist of Sepultura, alongside Alex Kafer on vocals and bass, Marcelo Vasco on guitar, and Alexandre Oliveira on drums. Formed in late 2019, The Troops of Doom aim to revive the raw, aggressive sound of Sepultura's early works, such as *Bestial Devastation* and *Morbid Visions*. Their music is a blend of old-school Thrash and Death Metal, capturing the spirit of the Brazilian underground scene from the 1980s.

The band's name is inspired by Sepultura's classic song "Troops of Doom," which Jairo was involved in writing. Their debut EP, *The Rise of Heresy*, includes re-recordings of Sepultura classics, reflecting their commitment to preserving the legacy of early Brazilian metal. The Troops of Doom have received positive feedback from fans and fellow musicians alike, including the Cavalera brothers, who have expressed support for the project.
