Lowkey

Lowkey, born Kareem Dennis on May 23, 1986, is a British rapper and political activist known for his sharp lyricism and socially conscious themes. He grew up in London with an Iraqi mother and British father, beginning to rap from a young age and honing his skills in open mic sessions around Central London. After building a reputation through mixtapes and collaborations in the early 2000s, Lowkey gained wider recognition with his solo albums *Dear Listener* (2008) and *Soundtrack to the Struggle* (2011), as well as extensive live performances, including appearances at Glastonbury and the BBC Electric Proms. After a brief hiatus, he returned with a series of singles leading up to his third album *Soundtrack to the Struggle 2* in 2019. His music often tackles topics like politics, conflict, and social justice, blending his British-Arab heritage into his distinct voice in hip hop.
