Gouge Away

Gouge Away is an American punk band, hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, known for their visceral blend of hardcore punk and emotionally charged lyrics. Formed in 2012, the band comprises vocalist Christina Michelle, guitarist Mick Ford, bassist Tyler Forsythe, and drummer Tommy Cantwell. Their music is a fiery mix of angst and social commentary, delivered with a raw intensity that has garnered them a dedicated following in the hardcore scene.

The band’s discography is a testament to their relentless work ethic and constant evolution. Gouge Away released their first full-length album ", Dies" in 2016, a record that received much praise for its confrontational sound and potent messaging. 2018's "Burnt Sugar," produced with the aid of Jeremy Bolm of Touché Amoré and engineered by Jack Shirley, marked a significant step forward in complexity and melodic prowess while maintaining the band's characteristic aggressive edge. Their keen ability to mix melody with an unbridled ferocity is captured in the 2019 single "Consider B/W Wave of Mutilation," a cover of Pixies’ classic, which showcases their dynamic range. Continuing to push boundaries, Gouge Away’s "Idealized," "Stray," and "Swallow B/W Sweat" further expand their sonic landscape, securing their status as one of the most exciting and challenging voices in the contemporary punk scene. They have also taken their intense live performances to the recording domain with the session "Gouge Away on Audiotree Live," capturing the raw energy that fans have come to expect from their concerts.
