Matenrou Opera, which translates to "Skyscraper Opera," is a Japanese visual kei symphonic metal band formed in 2006. The group was founded by vocalist Sono and drummer Yuu, both former members of the band Jeniva. Over the years, Matenrou Opera has undergone several lineup changes, with Sono remaining as the consistent frontman.
The band has been prolific in their output, releasing multiple albums, EPs, and singles since their formation. Their sound blends elements of symphonic metal with visual kei aesthetics, creating a unique musical style. Matenrou Opera has toured both in Japan and internationally, including performances in Europe, helping to expand their fanbase beyond their home country.
