The A-Bones

The A-Bones are a gritty garage rock band, hailing from the vibrant music scene of New York City. Formed in the mid-1980s, the group takes its name from a song by the Trashmen and was known for their raw, energetic sound that paid homage to the wild rock 'n' roll of the 1950s and 1960s. With a lineup consisting of steadfast members like Billy Miller and Miriam Linna, who were also the founders of the influential indie label Norton Records, The A-Bones carved out a niche for themselves in the underground music scene. The band was as much about musical authenticity as it was about having a good time, often injecting humor and a party-atmosphere into their live performances.

Despite never aiming for mainstream success, The A-Bones became cult favorites among garage rock enthusiasts. Their discography includes titles like "Ears Wide Shut," which showcases their knack for blending classic rock 'n' roll with garage punk energy, and "Not Now!", which assertively stamps their sound with raucous beats and catchy hooks. Always looking back fondly on music's past, albums such as "I Was A Teenage Mummy" and "Daddy Wants a Cold Beer and Other Million Sellers" encapsulate the band's love for both the obscure and the iconic sounds of early rock music. The A-Bones have remained true to their roots, offering a spirited musical journey that honors the past while bringing the rawness of garage rock to new audiences.
