Alberto Iglesias

Alberto Iglesias is a renowned Spanish composer celebrated for his evocative and lush film scores that often display a unique blend of classical, electronic, and world music influences. Born on October 21, 1955, in San Sebastián, Spain, Iglesias developed an early interest in music, which led him to the Conservatorio Superior de Música in San Sebastián and later to study composition in Barcelona and France.

He has become well-known for his frequent collaborations with Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, crafting the soundscapes for films such as "Dolor y Gloria" (Pain and Glory), "Madres Paralelas" (Parallel Mothers), and "The Human Voice" – all defining works in his rich oeuvre. Iglesias’s music is characterized by its emotional depth and intricate arrangements, qualities that have earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards, including several Goya Awards for Best Original Score.
