Itzhak Ventura is a talented ney (Middle Eastern end-blown reed flute) player, composer, producer, and live performer from Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. Growing up in the culturally vibrant city of Jaffa-Tel Aviv, he mastered the Persian, Arabic, and Turkish styles of the ney, becoming widely recognized as a leading artist on this instrument. Ventura blends the ancient sounds and motifs of the ney with contemporary music production, creating a unique hybrid sound that respects traditional sensibilities while innovating with modern elements, including electronic music collaborations. Since 2009, he has been a member of The Jerusalem Orchestra East & West and worked with a diverse range of musicians across various genres.
His debut album *Aligned* showcases his heartfelt and virtuosic musicianship, reflecting a personal journey of resilience after a life-changing diagnosis and recovery. This album and his subsequent work, including the 2024 release *Ein-Sof*, highlight his ability to fuse the spiritual qualities of the ney with elegant contemporary arrangements, featuring piano, bass, drums, and analog synthesizers. Ventura also performs a unique solo show combining the ney with analog synths, offering audiences a deeply immersive and transcendent musical experience.
