Movaizhaleine

Movaizhaleine is a renowned Gabonese hip-hop group from Libreville, founded in 1992. Originally composed of a group of high school students, it is currently led by members Maât Seigneur Lion and Lord Ekomy Ndong. Known for their powerful blend of hip-hop and socially conscious lyrics, Movaizhaleine has made significant contributions to the African music scene. Some of their notable works include albums like "En Mission à Mbeng" (1999) and the two-volume series "On Détient la Harpe Sacrée" (2005 and 2007). These albums highlight their unique fusion of traditional Gabonese elements with modern hip-hop, addressing societal issues and provoking thought among listeners.

Movaizhaleine has also been part of notable collaborations and projects, such as being a member of the African supergroup One8, alongside other prominent African artists like Navio from Uganda and 2Face from Nigeria. Their music often reflects on contemporary social challenges, making them a significant voice in African hip-hop.
