Modern Baseball emerged from the vibrant Philadelphia punk scene, crafting a unique blend of earnest, confessional lyrics with indie rock and punk flavors. Formed by childhood friends Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald while attending college in Philadelphia, the band quickly expanded to include Sean Huber and Ian Farmer. Their debut album, "Sports" (2012), recorded while they were still in school, resonated with a generation navigating the complexities of young adulthood, relationships, and identity. The band's relatable storytelling and DIY ethos struck a chord, leading to a rapidly growing fanbase.

By the time they released "You're Gonna Miss It All" in 2014, Modern Baseball had become a prominent name in the indie scene, with their music capturing the angst and uncertainties of growing up. Their third album, "Holy Ghost" (2016), showcased a matured sound and deeper exploration of personal themes, further cementing their place in the hearts of fans across the globe. Despite their success, the band announced a hiatus in 2017, taking time to focus on their mental health and other projects.
