Radha Viswanathan
Radha Viswanathan was a highly respected Carnatic musician, vocalist, and composer, and the daughter of the legendary M.S. Subbulakshmi. While often performing alongside her mother, providing vocal support and playing the tambura, Radha also carved out her own significant career. She composed music for numerous films, often devotional in nature, and also released albums of her own. She was deeply involved in preserving and promoting her mother's musical legacy, working tirelessly to archive and release recordings of Subbulakshmi's performances.
Beyond her musical pursuits, Radha was known for her dedication to teaching and mentoring aspiring musicians. She carried forward the rich tradition of Carnatic music, passing on her knowledge and passion to the next generation. Her contributions to the world of music, both in her own right and as a custodian of her mother's legacy, earned her immense respect and admiration within the Carnatic music community and beyond.
