**De Div** was a Dutch new wave band from Delft. The group emerged at the end of 1979 from a series of experimental performances. The core lineup included Art Zaaijer on vocals and saxophone, Marc de Reus on bass, Niek van Slobbe on guitar and synthesizer, Rob Dingemans on guitar, and Peter de Wolf on drums. De Div was known for its sharp, angular sound and its use of Dutch lyrics. The band released several notable works, including the maxi-single *Stap Voor Stap* in 1981, followed by the album *Europa Is Hier*. In 1983, they released the cassette *Pasodoble*, featuring live recordings and experimental tracks. In 1986, the band began using English lyrics and shortened its name to "Div," eventually disbanding in 1990.
