Sunil Bardewa

Sunil Bardewa was a renowned Nepalese pop singer, songwriter, arranger, and guitarist. Born in 1972 in Kathmandu, Nepal, he gained popularity not only for his singing but also for his guitar skills, which were a central element in his music. Bardewa initially gained recognition as part of the musical band The Matrix, alongside another Nepalese singer, Saroj Dutta. The band won the Sajan Smriti Pop Song Contest in 1995. Some of his most notable songs include "Goreto Ani Ustai Cha Galli" and the pop ballad "Bihani Ma," for which he collaborated with Naresh Dev Pant on the lyrics. Sunil Bardewa passed away on September 13, 2016, at the age of 44.

Bardewa's contributions to Nepalese music are also recognized through his work as a composer, as seen in projects like "Nostalgia Musical" (2011) and "Pagal Premi-2" (2021). His legacy continues to influence local music, especially among young musicians who admire his guitar work and songwriting skills. Despite his untimely passing, Sunil Bardewa remains a celebrated figure in Nepalese pop music.
