Witch Mountain

Witch Mountain is an American doom metal band whose origins date back to 1997 in Portland, Oregon. Founded by guitarist Rob Wrong and drummer Nathan Carson, Witch Mountain carved their niche within the doom metal scene with their fusion of classic metal elements and the haunting, powerful vocals that would come to define their sound. Radiating a profound grasp of the genre's gloomy and weighty atmosphere, their music is characterized by deliberate tempos, heavy riffs, and a blend of melodic prowess with a touch of the psychedelic.

Over the years, Witch Mountain has been recognized for their consistent evolution in sound and personnel, with singer Uta Plotkin joining the band in 2009 and contributing significantly to albums like "South of Salem" (2010), "Cauldron of the Wild" (2012), and "Mobile of Angels" (2014), before her departure from the band. Following a brief hiatus, the group resurfaced with Kayla Dixon as their new vocalist, marking her debut on their self-titled album "Witch Mountain" (2018). Known for dynamic performances and an unwavering commitment to expanding the boundaries of their genre, the band's more recent release "Priceless Pain" continues to showcase their ability to blend heavy, foreboding doom with a modern and soulful vocal delivery, solidifying their status as a bastion of the modern American doom metal scene.
