Alaw

Alaw is a well-established band in the European folk music scene, known for their uplifting and inspiring music that also challenges listeners. The band originated around 2012 when Dylan and Oliver recorded an EP together at Dylan’s Taith Records studio in Abergavenny, Wales. Shortly after, accordionist Jamie Smith joined, forming the trio that comprises ALAW. They blend traditional Celtic folk influences with original compositions, including songs written by fiddler and songwriter Oliver Wilson-Dickson. Their album *Dead Man’s Dance* showcases their creative songwriting and features collaborations with notable artists like singer-songwriter and harpist Georgia Ruth as well as cellist Gillian Stevens. The band’s music is praised for its thoughtful arrangements and dynamic performances that weave together vocals, fiddle, accordion, guitar, and cello.
