Underground Sound Of Lisbon

**Underground Sound of Lisbon** was a pioneering Portuguese electronic music project formed in the 1990s by producer Rui da Silva and DJ Vibe (Bruno Ferreira). Bursting out of Lisbon’s vibrant club scene, they became synonymous with hypnotic house grooves and a fusion of global rhythms, particularly drawing from Angolan kizomba influences. Their 1995 anthem *“So Get Up”*—a collaboration with vocalist Ithaka—became a global underground smash, later reissued as *“So Get Up 2002”* and celebrated with a *10th Anniversary Edition*.

Running their own Kismet Records imprint, the duo championed Lisbon’s raw, soulful sound through releases like *Chapter One*, *Chapter II*, and *The Lights*. While their active years were relatively short, their impact was lasting, helping to cement Portugal’s electronic music identity and inspiring a wave of producers. Even decades later, their tracks remain timeless floor-fillers, a testament to their gritty, genre-blurring magic.
