Gloria Tang Sze-wing, better known by her stage name G.E.M. (an acronym for "Get Everybody Moving"), is a celebrated Hong Kong singer-songwriter and producer born on August 16, 1991, in Shanghai. Raised in a profoundly musical family—her mother studied at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, her grandmother was her vocal coach, her uncle a violinist, and her grandfather a saxophonist—Gloria began writing songs by age five and appeared on educational television by seven. She honed her musical skills early, achieving Grade 8 piano by thirteen.
