K.U.K.L.

K.U.K.L. was a short-lived but influential Icelandic experimental rock band formed in 1983. The band's name is an acronym for "Kurtis Undir Kuppli Ljóðsins," which translates to "The Choir Under the Dome of Light." K.U.K.L. was known for their dark, atmospheric sound and their use of unconventional instruments, such as chainsaws and drills. The band's lineup included Einar Örn Benediktsson (guitar, vocals), Björk Guðmundsdóttir (vocals), Guðlaugur Kristinn Óttarsson (bass), and Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums). K.U.K.L. released two albums, "The Eye" and "Holidays in Europe (The Naughty Nought)," before disbanding in 1986. Despite their brief existence, K.U.K.L. is considered one of the most important bands in the history of Icelandic rock music.
