Alcatrazz

Alcatrazz is a heavy metal band best known for blending melodic hooks with virtuosic guitar work, often spotlighting some of the most technically gifted players in rock and metal. The band was originally formed in the early 1980s by vocalist Graham Bonnet, who had previously sung with Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group. Alcatrazz quickly gained attention with its debut album No Parole from Rock 'n' Roll, which featured a young Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar. Over the years, the band's guitar duties were also held by notable virtuoso Steve Vai.

Known for classic tracks like "Island in the Sun" and "God Blessed Video," Alcatrazz carved out a niche in the metal scene with soaring vocals, intricate guitar solos, and cinematic songwriting. After a long hiatus, the band experienced a resurgence with new material and lineup changes, including recent releases like Take No Prisoners and Battlelines. The group continues to perform and evolve, showcasing a legacy that spans decades of hard rock and metal history.
