Daughters

Daughters are an American noise rock band that have continually redefined and pushed the boundaries of hardcore and experimental music since their inception. Formed in 2002 in Providence, Rhode Island, the group originally emerged from the ashes of the band As the Sun Sets, carrying forward a relentless and abrasive sound. With Alexis Marshall on vocals, Nick Sadler handling guitar duties, Jon Syverson on drums, and Samuel Moorehouse Walker on bass, they cultivated an intense and chaotic style that garnered a cult following.

The band's discography showcases a fascinating evolution in style, with each release marking a departure from the previous. Their early work, including their first full-length "Canada Songs" in 2003 and follow-up "Hell Songs" in 2006, was noted for its frenetic, short bursts of grindcore-influenced madness. After a hiatus, they resurfaced with a self-titled album "Daughters" in 2010 that hinted at a broader and more expansive sonic palette. It wasn't until 2018's "You Won't Get What You Want" that the band fully realized a transformation into a more experimental and doom-laden sound, achieving widespread acclaim for its enthralling and nightmarish atmospherics. The single "What's Inside a Girl," and the latest full-length, solidify Daughters' standing as innovative torchbearers in the noise rock genre, masterfully blending aggression with a dark, artistic aesthetic that challenges and captivates listeners.
