I'm From Barcelona

"I'm From Barcelona" is a Swedish indie/pop collective that is known for their upbeat melodies, whimsical lyrical compositions, and their grand orchestration, both in recorded music and live performances. Established in Jönköping in 2005, the band's name is a playful misnomer given that none of its members are from Barcelona, Spain. Led by frontman and principal songwriter Emanuel Lundgren, the ensemble has varied in size over the years, famously featuring up to nearly 30 members participating in recordings and performances, including musicians as well as choir singers.

After breaking onto the international music scene with their infectious hit "We're From Barcelona" from their debut album "Let Me Introduce My Friends" in 2006, I'm From Barcelona has continued to charm audiences with their unique, joyful sound. Their discography includes notable works such as "Who Killed Harry Houdini?" and "Forever Today." The band's style is marked by the use of a wide variety of instruments, harmonious choral background vocals, and frequently optimistic themes. Albums like "Growing Up Is For Trees" showcase their continued evolution as a group, experimenting with a combination of childlike wonder and introspective musings on life and growth, while singles like "Violins" and its Elyella Remix continue to exhibit their penchant for creating catchy indie pop anthems that resonate with a diverse audience of listeners around the globe.
