Les Rallizes Dénudés

Les Rallizes Dénudés, also known as Hadaka no Rallizes, were a notoriously enigmatic Japanese rock band at the forefront of the experimental noise rock scene since their formation in 1967 at Kyoto University. The band was led by guitarist Takashi Mizutani and became infamous for their blend of psychedelic rock, avant-garde noise, and politically charged performance art. The group's music is characterized by Mizutani's haunting guitar feedback and the lo-fi, often improvised nature of their recordings, which contributed to their cult status.

Throughout their career, Les Rallizes Dénudés remained largely underground, known for their association with radical political movements and for the mystery surrounding their infrequent recordings and performances. Their discography, a treasure trove for collectors due to the rarity and limited distribution of their music, has been compiled posthumously from live recordings and a few studio sessions. Works such as "CITTA' '93" and "The OZ Tapes" showcase their raw, hypnotic soundscapes, while remastered albums like "'77 LIVE" and "MIZUTANI / Les Rallizes Dénudés" have provided a cleaner gateway into the band's intense sonic universe for new generations. Despite the group's dissolution in the late '90s, their influence pervades the spheres of noise rock and experimental music to this day.
