Anubrata Chatterjee is a talented Indian tabla player from the Farrukhabad gharana, following in the footsteps of his father, the renowned maestro Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. Born in 1985 in Kolkata, Anubrata began formal tabla training at a young age and was the youngest and last ganda-bandh disciple of the legendary guru Padmabhushan Jnan Prakash Ghosh. He has built a distinguished career as both a soloist and accompanist, collaborating with some of Indian classical music's biggest names like Hariprasad Chaurasia, Amjad Ali Khan, Birju Maharaj, and Shivkumar Sharma.
Anubrata has performed worldwide at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and at international festivals across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He is known for blending power, grace, and impeccable tonal clarity in his tabla playing, and for carrying forward his father’s legacy while creating his own unique style. Besides classical music, he has also worked on projects like "The Megh Project," an instrumental tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, showcasing his versatility and collaboration with contemporary musicians.
