Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra

The Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1940, is one of Lithuania's two national orchestras. Based in Vilnius, this ensemble has been a cornerstone of Lithuania's classical music scene for over eight decades. The orchestra has worked with notable conductors like Juozas Domarkas, who led the ensemble for many years, and more recently, Modestas Pitrėnas.

Known for its diverse repertoire, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra has recorded works by Lithuanian composers as well as international classical pieces. They've been particularly active in promoting Lithuanian music, including works by composers like Vytautas Bacevičius. The orchestra continues to be a significant presence in Lithuania's cultural landscape, regularly performing at home and participating in international tours and festivals.
