El Da Sensei, born William Hiv, is a Newark, New Jersey-bred hip-hop legend best known as one-half of the 1990s golden-era duo Artifacts (with Tame One). Bursting onto the scene with gritty, graffiti-soaked anthems like "Wrong Side of the Tracks," he carved his name into boom-bap history with sharp lyricism and an effortless flow. After Artifacts disbanded, El Da Sensei kept the torch burning as a solo artist and collaborator, dropping projects like *The Unusual* and working with icons like O.C., A.G., and DJ Premier.

True to his underground roots, he’s stayed prolific in the 2000s and 2010s, releasing projects like *The Unexpected* and *Vibes All Live*, which blend his signature streetwise storytelling with soulful beats.
