Kaori Muraji

Kaori Muraji, born on April 14, 1978, in Tokyo, Japan, is one of the most prominent classical guitarists of her generation, not only within her home country but on the international stage as well. The virtuoso began playing the guitar at the tender age of three, under the tutelage of her father, Noboru Muraji. Further honing her craft, she became the youngest winner of the prestigious Student Guitar Competition in Japan at the age of ten. Muraji's education in music continued under the guidance of Shin-ichi Fukuda at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, where she graduated with top honors. Her technique, marked by its exquisite sensitivity and expressive depth, along with her broad repertoire that spans from classical to contemporary compositions, has garnered acclaim worldwide.

Muraji's discography is a testament to her versatility and passion for music, featuring albums such as "Canon," which showcases her ability to reinterpret classical pieces with fresh sensibility, and "Piazzolla: Libertango (Arr. Iizumi for 2 Guitars)," where she explores the rhythmic complexities and emotional intensity of Latin music. The release of thematic albums like "Twilight Wind," "MOONLIGHT," and "Cinema - Movie Themes For Classical Guitar" reflects her endeavor to bridge the gap between classical music and wider audiences, by bringing to life soundtracks and themes from films through her guitar. Kaori Muraji’s journey is not only that of personal triumph but is also a significant chapter in the ever-evolving story of classical guitar, making her a pivotal figure in the music world.
