Memento is an Australian hard rock band formed in 2001, featuring vocalist and keyboardist Justin Stewart Cotta, guitarist Jason "Space" Smith, bassist Leighton "Lats" Kearns, and American drummer Steve Clark. They released their debut album, *Beginnings*, in 2003, which included singles like "Nothing Sacred" and "Saviour" that gained moderate traction on the US mainstream rock charts. The band also participated in the 2003 Ozzfest tour, playing on the rotating second stage. Despite their early momentum, Memento disbanded in 2004 due to personal conflicts and record label issues. The members briefly reunited under the name Nine Times Bodyweight in 2006 but eventually dissolved again without further releases.
This version of Memento should not be confused with other artists sharing the name, including a Serbian alternative rock band and an Italian singer-songwriter.
