Greg Osby is a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader who has been a major force in jazz for over three decades. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Osby began playing the saxophone at an early age and quickly developed a passion for jazz. He studied at Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, and in the early 1980s, he began performing with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, and McCoy Tyner. Osby has released over 30 albums as a leader, and his music has been praised for its originality, complexity, and emotional depth. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Doris Duke Performing Artist Award.
