Cassandra Coleman

Cassandra Coleman is an indie-pop artist from Columbia, Tennessee, who first caught widespread attention as a contestant on Season 19 of American Idol, where she made it to the top 10. Born May 15, 1996, Coleman grew up near the Blue Ridge Mountains, an upbringing that deeply influenced her musical style, blending folk and americana roots with synth-heavy 80s influences and dream-pop sensibilities. During her American Idol audition, she performed The Killers' "The Way It Was," and she later had the opportunity to perform a duet with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder on the show.

After American Idol, Coleman pursued songwriting and released her debut EP "Coming of Age" in April 2023, which she recorded with producer Jack Antonoff and the members of Bleachers at the iconic Electric Lady Studios. The title track is an honest reflection on her journey from rural Tennessee to signing with Warner Records, exploring themes of self-love and personal growth. Following this debut, Coleman has continued building momentum with releases like "Bite My Tongue," which was featured in the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This" Season 2 trailer. Currently touring and amassing a dedicated fanbase, Coleman has carved out her own space in the indie-pop landscape with her warm vocals, introspective songwriting, and genre-blending sound that honors her Appalachian roots while embracing contemporary production.
