**Оркестр Олега Лундстрема** is one of the most iconic jazz ensembles in Russia, founded by the renowned musician Oleg Lundstrem. Born on April 2, 1916, in Chita, Russia, Oleg Lundstrem was a composer, conductor, and jazz musician who spent much of his early life in China. He formed his first jazz band in Harbin in the 1930s and later moved to Shanghai, where the band gained significant popularity. After returning to the USSR in 1947, Lundstrem's orchestra became a pioneering force in Soviet jazz, known for its authentic big band sound without strings. The orchestra was officially established in 1956 under the management of the All-Russian Concert and Touring Association (Rosconcert).
Over the years, the orchestra has released numerous albums, including **"Золотая коллекция"**, **"In Memory of Duke Ellington"**, **"Причины хорошего настроения"**, **"Фантазии"**, and **"Джаз-67 (Live)"**. These releases showcase the ensemble's versatility and dedication to jazz. In 1995, the orchestra was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest continuously performing jazz band. Oleg Lundstrem passed away on October 14, 2005, but his legacy lives on through the orchestra, now known as the State Chamber Jazz Orchestra named after Oleg Lundstrem.
