Don Li

Don Li is a Swiss composer, clarinetist, saxophonist, and music producer born on April 7, 1971, in Bern, Switzerland. He's known for his pioneering work in minimalist groove music, blending elements of jazz, funk, art rock, and electronica into a unique, genre-defying sound. Li's innovative approach to rhythm, particularly his concept of "curved rhythms," has influenced many musicians in the Swiss minimalist groove scene.

In 1999, Li founded Tonus-Music-Records and established the Tonus-Music Laboratory (later renamed Orbital Garden) in Bern in 2000. This space serves as a recording studio, experimental lab, and performance venue. Li has released several albums, including the highly regarded "Out of Body Experience" in 2006. His work often explores pattern-based compositions and pushes the boundaries of traditional musical categorization.
