He began his DJ career at the age of 16 and started producing music at 18, influenced by De Mthuda. Sushi Da Deejay was previously part of the group S & M MusiQ alongside Mthetho The-Law but left to focus on his solo career, citing a desire for his efforts to be recognized. He is known for his contributions to the Amapiano genre, a style of music that has gained popularity in South Africa.
