Otakar Trhlík

Otakar Trhlík was a Czech conductor and music educator, born on January 19, 1922, in Brno. He played a significant role in the musical scene, particularly as the long-time chief conductor of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava. Under his leadership, the orchestra underwent a name change in 1971, adopting its current form. Trhlík was also associated with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. He passed away on August 6, 2005.
