The Rare Occasions are an American indie rock band that has consistently carved out a niche for themselves in the alternative music scene with their dynamic sound and thought-provoking lyrics. The band initially came together in 2012 while the members were attending college in Providence, Rhode Island. Comprised of Brian McLaughlin (vocals, guitar), Peter Stone (guitar), Jeremy Cohen (bass), and Luke Imbusch (drums), they began to gain attention following their win at a battle of the bands competition, swiftly garnering a dedicated fan base through energetic live performances and a series of well-received EPs.

Despite their Northeastern beginnings, The Rare Occasions moved their base to Los Angeles, where they have continued to evolve and adapt their style. They broke into wider recognition with their hit single "Dysphoric" (2016), which further defined their sharp-edged indie rock sound.
