Kadamba Kanana Swami

Kadamba Kanana Swami was a senior member and initiating guru of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), born on April 12, 1953, in Heemstede, near Amsterdam. He joined ISKCON in 1978 and was involved in various roles, including managing projects in Vrindavana and overseeing the construction of Srila Prabhupada's Pushpa Samadhi Mandir in Mayapur from 1985 to 1990. He became the temple president of the Krishna Balarama Mandir in Vrindavana from 1990 to 1995. After taking sannyasa in 1997, he traveled extensively, spreading the message of Lord Caitanya's movement. He was renowned for his devotional kirtans and has released several albums, including "Brhad Mrdanga" and "Vaisnava Seva," as well as more recent works like "I Am Nobody Great but So Much Mercy Carries Me" and "Jarikhanda."

Kadamba Kanana Swami was not only a spiritual leader but also an influential figure in the world of kirtan music. His music is characterized by deep devotion and spiritual connection, often reflecting his travels and experiences within different communities. He taught at Bhaktivedanta College in Belgium and was involved in various international projects, including the Festival of Chariots in South Africa. His legacy continues to inspire devotees and music lovers alike. Kadamba Kanana Swami passed away on March 9, 2023, in Vrindavana.
