Edric Connor was a Trinidad-born singer, actor, and cultural ambassador who brought Caribbean rhythms to British audiences in the mid-20th century. Born in 1913, he moved to England in 1944 and became a vibrant force in folk and calypso music, charming listeners with warm vocals and storytelling flair. His album *Songs from Jamaica* and *Songs from Trinidad* showcased traditional Caribbean tunes, while his playful *Manchester United Calypso* (1957) became a quirky football anthem. Beyond music, Connor broke ground as one of the first Black actors in British theater and TV, appearing in Shakespearean roles and films like *Moby Dick* (1956). His work preserved Caribbean heritage and bridged cultures until his death in 1968.
