Memfis is a Swedish band founded in the spring of 2003 in Kristinehamn. The original members included Mattias Engström (guitar and vocals), Johan Boqvist (guitar and vocals), Carl-Johan Lindblad (drums), and Christian Öhberg (bass). They gained recognition with two demos in 2004, which led to a record deal with Dental Records. Their debut album, *The Wind-Up*, was released in September 2006, featuring 11 tracks. The band toured with notable acts like Entombed, The Haunted, and Satyricon, and received the "Newcomer of the Year" award from a Swedish radio show, leading to a performance at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2007. Over the years, Memfis has undergone lineup changes, with Johan Boqvist leaving after the album's release and Christian Öhberg also leaving, to be replaced by Daniel Götstedt and Henrik Eriksson, respectively. Their recent releases include *Imperium*, *Silva*, *Vertigo*, and the mentioned *The Wind-Up*.
Memfis's music style and evolution have been marked by these releases, which showcase their ability to adapt and continue producing music. Despite the changes in their lineup, they have maintained a consistent output and have been recognized for their contributions to the music scene.
