Tendencia

Tendencia is a renowned Cuban heavy metal band formed in Pinar del Río in 1994. They are considered one of the most important rock bands in Cuba and have gained significant recognition across Latin America. The band's lineup includes Jose Ernesto Kiko Mederos, Sergio Ernesto Puente Becerra, Alfredo Carballo Concepción, Anier Barrera Tattoo, Lachi Hernández, and Emmanuel Candela Pujol. Tendencia released their debut album *Re-evolution* in 2001, which marked their entry into the Cuban media scene. Their subsequent albums, such as *Rebeldes* (2005), *Confidencial* (2008), *Cargando Cruces* (2017), and *Añejo XXV* (2019), have been well-received and have earned them several awards, including the Cubadisco award for best metal album.

Tendencia has been active in various international music festivals, including the Patria Grande International Rock Festival in Cuba and the Derrame Rock Festival in Spain. They have also toured extensively across Latin America and Europe, sharing stages with notable bands. Their music has been celebrated for its unique blend of heavy metal with Cuban influences, making them a significant figure in the Latin American metal scene. The band continues to be a driving force in Cuban rock music, hosting and curating festivals like the Pinar Rock International Festival.
