Newsboys

Newsboys are a Christian pop rock band that originated in Queensland, Australia, in 1985. Founded by Peter Furler and his friend George Perdikis, they started out as a band playing in local churches and youth groups. With their dynamic and energizing live performances, they quickly gained a following. The band underwent several lineup changes throughout the years, with Furler stepping down from the frontman role in 2009, which led to Michael Tait, formerly of dc Talk, stepping in as the lead vocalist. This transition marked a new era for the Newsboys, with their sound evolving to match their new frontman's style.

Newsboys' discography is extensive and features a blend of rock, pop, and worship music, often characterized by their catchy melodies and uplifting lyrics. The band is known for a string of successful albums and singles and has garnered a significant fan base within the Christian music scene. Notable hits include "Shine," "Breakfast," and "God's Not Dead," a song that inspired a film series of the same name. With a career spanning several decades, they've earned numerous award nominations and wins, including Dove Awards. The band has been renowned for their commitment to sharing a message of faith and hope through their music. The recent releases such as "He Lives," "I Speak Jesus," and "Stand" continue to showcase their dedication to producing music that inspires and connects with listeners on a spiritual level.
