**Paper Cut** is an indie pop duo from Los Angeles formed in 2018 by vocalist/guitarist Alex Rivera and synth wizard Jamie Park. Blending moody synthscapes with gritty guitar riffs, their sound nods to 2000s bloghouse energy while tackling themes of modern anxiety and queer identity. They gained traction with their DIY music videos and neon-drenched aesthetic, dropping EPs like *Static Echoes* (2019) and *Neon Ghosts* (2021) before signing to indie label Night Owl Collective in 2022. Recent releases like "Guyliner" and "Infierno" showcase their evolution into darker, more experimental territory, while "Origami" remains a fan favorite for its glitchy beats and existential origami metaphors. Known for their chaotic live shows (and matching silver jumpsuits), they’ve become cult favorites in the underground L.A. scene.
