The band was founded by Rusty Louden (guitar, vocals), Jimmy Redhead (guitar), Jimmy Charlton (drums), and Rusty Louden's brother, Fred 'Matchbox' Poke (piano). After several lineup changes, the band settled with Graham Fenton (vocals, guitar) and Freddy 'Fingers' Lee (piano), among others.
